Vintage Tasting 2024

This years vintage tasting will be on the 4th March 2024 starting at 6pm.

Location of this years event is St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London, WC2N 4JJ

Our function this year will again focus on ‘Vintage Cuvées’ from each of the 16 houses, this might be special vintage that have been created that the house would like to show off or the newest release.

Here what will be on show this year

Charles Heidsieck Brut Millesime 2013

The bouquet of the 2013 Brut Millésimé is compellingly fresh and minty, complicated by notes of white fruit-notably pear and apple-citrus and gentle spices, as well as a light touch of smoke. With aeration, elegant pastry notes come to the fore. On the palate, this is a structured, tension-filled but airborne Champagne with racy acidity, fleshy and charming texture and a long, penetrating finish

Bollinger La Grande Annee 2014

Tinted with golden glints. A precise and fruity nose with a slight scent of sea-air. Aromas of cherry and lemon mingle with quince and bergamot. Then notes of hazelnut and almond, peach and mirabelle plum complete this wine’s range of aromas. On the palate, The initial sensation is a fine and intense effervescence, followed by a wonderful vinosity, and then balanced with delicate acidity. Its very fine texture and sea-air finish bring excellent length on the palate, accompanied by a delicate minerality and the complex flavours of orchard fruit and citrus.

Pol Roger 2016

Alluring aromas of lemon peel, tarte au citron and freshly baked madeleines. With time in the glass, more savoury earth aromas such as roasted hazelnuts and marmalade develop, showcasing the many layers of complexity of this Champagne. On the palate, the wine has a firm backbone of acidity, balanced with the characteristically rich, broad Pinot Noir for which Pol Roger is known.

Taittinger 2015

On the nose, the 2015 Vintage is simultaneously precise, pure and fruity. It abounds in aromatic finesse and good minerality. This lively freshness feeds into a bouquet of white flowers - orange blossom, lime flower and honeysuckle - punctuated by the aroma of fresh fruits like lime and white peach, delicately accompanied by notes of lightly toasted almonds. On the palate, the attack is full of energy, precise and focussed. This rich, fruity and smooth sensation, with a hint of citrus, provides excellent balance between structure and finesse. Its almost chalky finish caresses the palate with a long and lingering saline tone.

Louis Roederer 2015

A perfect expression of the dominant Pinot Noir in this blend, the nose blends fruity (redcurrant, mirabelle plum, vine peach), spicy (white pepper) and acidic fragrances. Harmoniously blending liveliness, concentration and power, the palate is seduced by this wine’s precise structure and freshness. Throughout the tasting, fruity, chocolate (cocoa bean) and roasted aromas blend together harmoniously. The finish is persistent and generous, with delicious fruity notes and a refreshing salinity.

Krug 2011

A light golden colour and fine vivacious bubbles, holding a promise of pleasure. Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried and citrus fruits combine with marzipan and gingerbread. On the palate, hazelnut, barley sugar with more citrus, brioche and almonds. A slight honeyed finish, long and lingering.

Ruinart Dom Ruinart 2010

Really deep flavoured. Very obviously more depth of flavour and tension than the 2009 Dom Ruinart. The cork ageing does seem to enhance the savoury, reduced character reminiscent of white burgundy. Very long with lemon notes. A truly exciting wine that is still extremely youthful.

Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose 2015

La Grande Dame 2015 is an exceptional sunny vintage for a wine full of tension and elegance. It reveals this great wine’s verticality thanks to the Pinot Noirs harvested from our historical Grands Crus.

This graceful Champagne offers hints of smoke and toasted brioche that tran- sition to patisserie apple and blackberry fruit, candied ginger and man- darin orange peel notes. Seamlessly knit and mouthwatering, with a minerally underpinning and a finely detailed, dotted bead. Lush and creamy on the vibrant, lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Moet Chandon 2015

Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2015 evokes an awakening, the first rays of a day full of promise – a luminous morning aura. The 76th vintage in the history of the House, it is an initiation into Moët & Chandon’s journey of light. Initial notes of breadcrumbs, fresh brioche and almond paste give way to elderflower and jasmine, then to fruit such as white peach and watermelon.

Lanson Le Vintage 2013

A yellow hue with golden tints and fine, persistent bubbles.

Generous and intense on the nose, with notes of candied fruit, dried apricots and almonds, punctuated by aromas of acacia honey and sweet spices.

The identity of the 2012 Vintage is revealed on the palate. Density, texture and freshness come together in wonderful harmony. The texture feels generous, offering notes of honey, brioche and dried fruits. The freshness extends and blends delicately into a long and refined finish.

Piper Heidsieck Brut 2014

The 2014 vintage is elegant, radiant and intense. Golden in colour, the nose delivers aromas of orange blossom, apricot, brioche and a hint of toasted almond. On the palate, there are notes of tangerine, lime zest and liquorice. It has a refreshing acidity with a long, silky finish.

Mumm 2015

Mumm Millésimé 2015 is a pale yellow hue with subtle golden highlights.

The first nose reveals slightly reduced notes, followed by aromas of peach, ripe pear and acacia honey that find wonderful harmony against subtle notes of honeysuckle and kiwi and toasted aromas.

The attack is fresh and expressive, with enticing aromas of blood peaches and ripe pear with honeyed notes. Hints of exotic fruit (kiwi, litchi), honeysuckle and hawthorn precede a finish characterized by toasted aromas and notes of biscuit that bring the wine's balance to utter perfection.

Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque 2014

The 2014 Belle Epoque Brut is, as the Perrier-Jouet Champagne house says, "a true icon - a rare and elegant Champagne that celebrates the art of blending in the Perrier-Jouet style."

In the glass, this luminous sparkler is pale gold and crystal clear. The nose is sweet with peach and poached pear that continue into a fine palate of ripe stone fruit and light rhubarb

Laurent Perrier 2015

This has an intense nose with floral hints, lots of perfumed rose character and Turkish delight notes. Once it has had a few minutes in the glass, more flavours of brioche, grilled almonds and honey emerge. This Grand Siècle is refined, light and delicate and will live for decades.

Pommery Grand Cru Vintage 2009

On the eye, pale gold with delicate golden hues, signs of elegance and maturity. Exceptional brilliance. Very fine effervescence.

Remarkably elegant, the first nose is discreet and very fresh. The first notes are floral and sweet, reminiscent of honeysuckle and acacia flower. As the wine opens up, it reveals fruitier nuances of dried figs and also frangipane. The Pinot Noir asserts itself after a few seconds with aromas of violet and blueberry.

On the palate; very straight and exceptionally mineral, the structure of the wine is velvety, reminiscent of Champagne chalk. The balance is perfect. Notes of lime blossom and flaked almonds mingle with the fig aromas detected on the nose. A sign of great maturity after more than twelve years of ageing in the cellars, hints of toasted bread add complexity to this cuvee.

The finish is a perfect balance between tension and gourmandize through a dash of pink grapefruit.

Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Gold Top 2010

Gold Top is their most decadent cuvée. The wine is aged for up to a decade before it's released, so such a lengthy process results in seriously luxurious bubbles. The long ageing means the rich, toasty, creamy flavours are dialled right up. It’s aromatic and citrusy, with a lush texture and a lingering finish.
