Champagne Academy Application 2026

The Academie du Champagne is an Association representing the educational development of the 16 Grande Marques within the UK & Irish Hospitality Industry’s. Every year we organise a course in Champagne where 16 candidates learn about and are examined on Champagne to allow admission to the Academy.

Requirements

You must have worked in the UK or Irish wine trade for a minimum of 5 years and have a desire to develop knowledge and expertise in Champagne.

Your are not connected to any of the Champagne Houses, with a suggested experience of 3+ years, with plans to continue in a career in the industry.

Your application should be in by the end of September 2025, after this point any applications will be held for the following year.

To attend the course, you must be:

- Permanently employed in the wine trade in the UK or Ireland.

- Not connected to any Champagne house.

- In a role that allows you to promote Champagne to the public.

- Be willing to support the Academy and it's events following completion of the Course.

- Available to attend the Course in full for 1 week (dates tbc)

All information given at the time of application must be correct. The Champagne Academy reserves the right to withdraw an offer of a place on the course should any candidate details change after the application has been submitted.

All suitable applications are passed to the Selection Committee who meet in October, and they will ask more detailed questions as to what it means to the applicant and what they will do once they have attended the course. The final sixteen candidates will be invited to participate in the course as guests of all 16 Champagne Houses.
