On entering the wine trade I first spent time in France,Germany Spain and Portugal. After returning from Oporto in 1960 I was invited by Pol Roger to attend the Autumn, Course of the Champange Academy. I joined the recently formed Old Boys committee, becoming chairman in 1969, holding a formal dinner in London and a Autumn function for members and guests, during my year in office.

Over the years I played in a number of the golf matches that were held in Champagne.
I attended all the Academy’s Anniversary visits to Champagne including the 50th in 2006.

Whilst in the wine trade I attended many of the Champagne Academy functions supporting the Champagne Trade.
